Message of Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

College of Shariah and Islamic Sciences (COSIS) is engaged in the spread of cognizance, knowledge, learning and awareness in our dear homeland. Our youth are not only the precious asset of the nation but the axis of the hopes of the Muslim Ummah as well. If we impart to these enthusiasts sound education, equip them with a proactive, dynamic and devout character and imbue them with zeal for moderation, tolerance, justice and equality, they can win laurels and work wonders for the development of the country.

We are facing a dilemma at national level in the field of education. There are both the state-run and private educational institutions that are promoting traditional education in various science and arts subjects, but they fail to protect the youth of the nation from the onslaught of Western culture and civilization. Concurrently, certain institutions impart religious education to students yet they fall short of inculcating the attributes of tolerance, forbearance and moderation in the younger generation. This tragic standoff is not resulting in bringing up a balanced, poised and dynamic youth that can guarantee a smooth progress of the nation.

We need a modern scientific mind to grow with a strongly moral and emotionally stable, peace-loving personality. That is what COSIS has focused to achieve to resolve the national dilemma of education—to impart traditional education in science and arts to the youth, equipping them with strong spiritual and moral fibre to meet the demands of time. We have aimed at wiping out hatred, darkness and odours of explosives and spreading fragrance of love and radiance of knowledge in all directions.

The students of COSIS partake curricular and co-curricular activities and prove their worth. I have observed the COSIS graduates in playing their role in the development and prosperity of our motherland, following the ideal of their great educational and spiritual leader, Shykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
